Rhythm Roosters perform an ecclectic mix of blues, roots, rock, and jazz, including vocal and instrumental hits by Delbert McClinton, Albert King, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver, The Meters, and many more.
About
The Rhythm Roosters plays a blend we like to call “Pedro Jazz” – a strong blues base, with elements of jazz, honky tonk, funk, and rock, including repertoire ranging from Big Joe Turner to Lyle Lovett, Sonny Rollins to Delbert McClinton, Dr. John to Herbie Hancock, and much more. Led by Ralph Bloch’s laid back vocals and Hammond organ, the group also features guitar wizard Robert Bramwell, and acoustic bassist Ian Rashkin, playing as a trio or with a drummer and other guest artists to spice things up. Beyond easy categorization, The Roosters’ music music is accessible and familiar, but with just enough improvisation to keep everyone guessing – audiences and bandmates alike!
